In 2006, the NWT Bureau of Statistics, in partnership with the Department of Health & Social Services, completed the 2006 NWT Addictions Survey.
The 2006 NWT Addictions Survey collected information on patterns of alcohol and drug use of territorial residents. In addition, information was collected on the impact of alcohol use on territorial communities, and the use of marijuana and other drugs in the Northwest Territories. Information was also collected in the survey on tobacco use and on gambling activities of territorial residents.
The following file provides a profile for the Northwest Territories for 2006 of alcohol use, marijuana use, cigarette smoking activity, gambling, and mental health by selected socio-demographic characteristics.
