Project Overview
The purpose of this website it to provide users with access to current information on infrastructure and on general statistical information for all NWT communities.
The infrastructure information has been compiled through an infrastructure committee of Rural Team NWT members. Information on these contributors can be found here.
Through the Canadian Rural Partnership, the Government of Canada listens to rural citizens, and provides strategic tools and resources to assist communities to realize the benefits of networking and resource sharing. The Canadian Rural Partnership is the key rural policy initiative which works to ensure that programs, policies and activities are co-ordinated to provide support to rural and remote communities across Canada. The Canadian Rural Partnership helps us ensure that people can organize themselves to mobilize their communities, define goals and carry out plans that improve the quality of life in rural Canada.
The CRP also has expression at the local level. There is a Rural Team in each province and territory, and is managed by a Regional Advisor. The Rural Team NWT is comprised of approximately 26 active federal and territorial government representatives, as well as the NWT Association of Communities, Smart Communities and Aurora College.
